We acknowledge the many ways that recovery from substance misuse and other forms of addictive behaviour can be tackled. There is no one way to make lasting change. As such we would like to recognise any activity that assists on that journey.
Memorandum of understanding:
It is understood that attendance at meetings is voluntary and anonymity is an important part of trust. Matters discussed at meetings are confidential therefore no information related to the meeting itself will be shared. Attendance will be recorded via a Meeting Attendance Confirmation system which will be completed and distributed by a responsible group member determined within each group, in keeping with anonymity, each time a Service User attends as evidence of attendance. No further information will be required by the Responsible Officer.
The confidentiality of group members will be respected at all times. Narcotics Anonymous has its own understanding of safeguarding policies which any individual participating will be made aware of by the groups. Any safeguarding concerns raised during meetings will be actioned by the group should the need arise. Not all meetings offer the M.A.C. system, however, it is hoped that more meetings will be happy to adopt the M.A.C. system allowing more individuals to benefit.
